Is It Enough?

His tear drops mingle with the rain,

as torrents flood the earth.

How can man-kind be so cruel,

and show such little worth?

As the earth quake shakes the land,

the rifts tear through His heart.

It wasn’t meant to be like this,

way back at man-kind’s start.

As tidal waves rise and grow in force,

He grips his head in sorrow.

So many lives will meet their death,

while loved ones face tomorrow.

Then He kneels before His Father’s throne,

His head down to the floor,

“Father, is it yet enough,

or must they go through more?”

“Son, you have given all you could,

your blood wasn’t shed in vain,

the earth will quake and wars will rage,

and in famine, they’ll pray for rain.”

“Man-kind has his own free will,

great numbers misuse their power.

They use their wiles to deceive the souls,

as when in Babble they built the tower.”

His hand within His Father’s hand,

He sits at the right hand of God.

With heavy hearts they send out love,

to the faithful, as towards heaven they trod.

“Keep faith,” Jesus whispers!

“I’ll return when His time is right!”

“Watch for me through the days yet to come,

through the hours of daytime and night!”
